Meeting in person is difficult. Friends are spread around the world. And Zoom is tiresome at best.
Is there a way to mimic the feel of being close by?
As many of you know, I recently launched a community called Co-Create with my good friend Jake Housdon. Sharing skills, collaborating on a creation and observing someone display their craft is difficult remotely.
I recently discovered something called Gather that changes the equation entirely. Imagine a virtual world meets Zoom... an interactive space where you can explore and drop in and out of multiple conversations.
Admittedly, this takes some getting used to. At Co-Create, we are using it in the following ways:

The old tools have their place. But a community centered on finding purpose and a scene of fellow travelers to fan the flames of creativity requires something more... creative.
