Communities centered on creativity require a more creative approach.

A New Kind of Community

Community

"The future of every community lies in capturing the passion, imagination, and resources of its people." — Ernesto Sirolli'

Meeting in person is difficult. Friends are spread around the world. And Zoom is tiresome at best.

Is there a way to mimic the feel of being close by?

As many of you know, I recently launched a community called Co-Create with my good friend Jake Housdon. Sharing skills, collaborating on a creation and observing someone display their craft is difficult remotely.

I recently discovered something called Gather that changes the equation entirely. Imagine a virtual world meets Zoom... an interactive space where you can explore and drop in and out of multiple conversations.

Admittedly, this takes some getting used to. At Co-Create, we are using it in the following ways:

  • Hosting our creator campfires
  • Office hours where members share skills
  • Two creators collaborating on a creation
  • Chance encounters and water cooler talk
  • Creating in public where other members observe

And this is only the beginning. We plan to build our own virtual creator town. A place teeming with activity from a diverse set of creators.

A place where we...

  • Create freely and openly
  • Commingle diverse ideas
  • Teach and learn new skills
  • Display and celebrate creations
  • Rise together in a group genius

The old tools have their place. But a community centered on finding purpose and a scene of fellow travelers to fan the flames of creativity requires something more... creative.

Co-Create isn't following the well worn path of communities. It is forging a new one for creators.

Food for Thought

Are you a creator trying to find your way in the creator economy?

Are you looking for a safe place to create and learn without limits?

Would you like to meet like-minded people who will fan your flames of creativity?

One Small Step

If you answered yes to any of those questions, apply to join Co-Create. We have writers, copywriters, sketch artists, musicians, composers, poets, marketers, salespeople, podcasters, plant medicine practitioners, astrologers and more!
